Financial Administrator -- Part-time
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented part-time Financial Administrator to join our team and to work alongside our current Financial Administrator. This role is vital in ensuring the financial health of our school, managing budgets, overseeing accounting processes, and maintaining financial integrity in alignment with our Christian values. This part-time position will begin immediately and will start with one day a week and then potentially grow. The preferred candidate will have a love for Christian education along with the following:
- demonstrate alignment with the school’s mission and policies
- attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills
- experience in all aspects of the accounting cycle, including payroll and financial reporting
- knowledge of CRA regulations regarding charities
- experience with budget preparation and oversight
- Participate as a member of the Finance Committee which meets 6 to 8 times per year
- Maintain accurate up-to-date financial records using Quickbooks, Excel spreadsheets, and other financial software
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, tuition payments, and bank deposits
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and statements monthly
- Prepare and track charitable donation receipts in accordance with Canadian nonprofit standards
- Lead the development of the annual operating budget in collaboration with the principal and relevant committees
- Monitor the budget performance throughout the year and provide financial forecasting
- Prepare quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Financial Committee
- Assist in preparation for the annual audit/review engagement
- Administer tuition billing and payment plans
- Maintain records required for government reporting and ensure filings are completed on time

Director of Admissions and Communications
Part-time position
- 60 to 80 percent of a full-time salary position
- Onsite work
- May include some evenings and weekends
- Requires some travel

General Qualifications
- Living faith in Jesus Christ and a heart for service and community building
- Bachelor’s degree in Education and/or Communications
- Support and articulate the mission of SCH to interested students and families
- Knowledgeable about the Smithville Christian High, OSSD, school policies, and international enrollment
- Experience in Christian education, admissions, marketing and communications
- Demonstrate ability to manage teams and working collaboratively
- Communicate effectively in verbal, written, and multimedia forms
- Possess strong marketing skills to attract new students and families
- Display organizational skills and project management experience
- Foster relationships within our community and find networking opportunities
Admissions
- Manage and develop the admissions information and process from initial inquiry to principal interview
- Prepare an application package for new students which includes information about the school, tuition, bursaries and uniforms
- Visit partner schools to promote the school and facilitate admissions
- Work alongside other staff members in promotions, communications and admissions
International Student Coordinator
- Manage relationships between the school, recruitment partners, host families, and guardians as needed.
- Respond to admissions queries and guide students and partners through the enrollment process: applications, study permits, ESL screening, health insurance, guardianship, homestays and uniforms
- Develop relationships with recruiters and provide them promotional materials
Communication and Promotion
- Manage the relationship with the community and our four main feeder ("partner") schools, including Grade 8 Day, Grandparents Day, Celebration of Learning and Open Houses
- Manage and develop external communications, including the website, social media, Echoes, brochures, church bulletin/e-mail announcements, and the school sign
- Oversee all photography and video capturing and organize in files
- Support Yearbook and photography club as needed.
Community Relationships: Alumni/Donor
- Create and maintain email lists (mailing lists) for parents, prospective parents, alumni and donors
- Be a committee member on the Golf Tournament and other fundraising committees
- Manage affairs relating to SDH alumni
- Communicate with donors and thank them
- Assist with choir and other student groups involved with promotions
Compensation
- 80 percent FTE compensation salary ranging from $48,000 to $64, 000 per year. Plus benefits.
